a question

it's not even as if the question itself is important, but it seems to be impinging on my feelings about how I decide.

my boyfriend is sick. should I go to the thing we're doing tonight or go take care of him?

the thing I know I am not doing is staying home alone.

Go take care of him. All you'll do is worry, miss him and feel bad if you don't. Plus you get to find out what kinda patient he is.

i do not quite understand. i take it the we in "we're" refers to other than you and your boyfriend? taking care of sick friends is good karma. on the other hand, unless he's seriously ill i would think he'd understand if you wanted to keep a prescheduled social engagement.

expanded explanation for no other reason than I feel like it:

We go to play poker with friends on Fridays (unless there's a festival or holiday). We met at poker with friends on Fridays. So, there's both an honoring of our nearest and dearest who introduced us, and the desire to give in to the habit of keeping company with each other.

There's also the point that we're very similar, and when I'm sick, I want a comfortable environment to be sick in, and that's about it. Hovering and asking after me just interrupts my rest. But, we're also really loyal, and I could peacefully entertain myself and wait for him to call on me. But he's a Virgo -- would it make him self-conscious to be waited on?

As it was, he telephoned, I asked, and he said that he had no reason to keep me from going to poker. I went to poker, and lost all my chips just one hour into the game. It was good. We both had two pair, I had 10s high, she had Aces. So I went home early and we got a good night's sleep. Everyone was just fine with that solution.

i'd say go hold hand and take care of him. reasons: they've already been said so no need to repeat 'em. *Grin*

the way i see it, he means more to you than friends and aquaintances...hence the title of "boyfriend." therefore, his ailments take precidence over said plans. i can see you really want to go to whatever the other plans are, otherwise you wouldn't be questioning yourself.

ok, i WILL repeat something. karma. lovely karma. *hug* tell Him i said to get better dag nabbit! ;P
