Squirrel mafia must die

This morning, when Charlie went out to make coffee, the squirrels had dumped the birdfeeder, found the new encaged feeder hanging by the kitchen window, removed it, opened it, and were sitting around waiting for their scouts to find "the rest of the food" like they weren't all fat and happy now.

It had been a rather pleasant weekend in the backyard, with not only cardinals, robins, thrashers and doves, but wee crested gray birds I can't name, so CUTE. There was only one major squirrel incident when one of them found the bag of seed on the deck and chewed it open. The rest of the time there were only one or two squirrels picking through the leavings. But this morning, that was all over. They keep looking until they find a way to tear up whatever you have, I'm convinced.

Charlie is going all the way out to Stone Mountain to a shop to find anti-squirrel stuff. (This stuff is very sticky. It costs $6 to put it on, $30 to get it OFF!) And we might also SHOOT them. Charlie has become convinced that the low numbers of mosquitos we have this year is partially due to the birds being welcome and frequent visitors to our yard, so he is completely on board with this idea.

The problem is that there are not enough natural predators for the squirrels. The hawks have not taken off with the squirrels as we had hoped. Perhaps our yard is just too small for them to feel confident.

Right, it's not their fault, and it's as much "part of nature" that we put down our foot as what remains of their "natural predators" to get rid of them.

I'll be bringing in Charlie for this "nature religion" argument of yours.

We put out food for the Birds, not the Squirrels. Taking action against the squirrels is the only way (as proven by the squirrels) that we can make sure that we get to have our BIRDS. It's not them scouting around, it's the destruction that comes from them having NO natural predators to limit their numbers. That leaves it to us.

Yes but should we punish the entire population for what a few stupid people have done (squirrels, lady bugs, love bugs, kudzu, and Bush). I say we start at the top, bring back the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor and any thing else that eats people. That way we will have less people, more natural predator for the squirrels, less squirrels means more food for the birds and less mosquito's = Happy Scyllacat & Charlie! Or we can lone you our hell hounds for the weekend and nothing will ever come around your yard again (including people)!

P.S. You kill cockroaches!!
