Just so I remember. I got up and I took the car into the shop. Bad news and bad news. I needed new brakes, which I knew: $320. I also need a new clutch, which I didn't know: $780. Also, that $320 would have only been $200, except the rotors were badly rusted, so I didn't even know my brakes were going until is was a matter of beeg Skweely grindy noises.

Then, I went home, got dressed in something decent, and went to the Borders, where I put in an application for employment. My friends Janel and Lisa ([livejournal.com profile] polychromatic22 and [livejournal.com profile] fateclotho) said they thought I had a good chance of getting hired there. Yay. Well, there's also the one at Barrett Parkway and the one on Peachtree if the one at Cumberland doesn't hire me.

While I was putting in the application, I called Milano's because I needed to make sure I had the right information down for references. And Corey called Frank and Frank said, tell her to call me. And I did, and he wants me to work Saturday and Sunday and put in a schedule request for next week. Which I have to do today when I go downtown to pick up my bicycle at Isaac's which is the thing I missed doing yesterday.

Then I went to Lisa and Janel's and talked about the 'zine I want to do, and they had some ideas and now I'm working on them: basically, getting a stable of people who will do articles for me and put them together in a mock up and see what I can do about getting a grant: they suggested checking with the Chamber of Commerce. Apparently, Lisa knows about this stuff. And they want to do things on food, backpacking and spoken word, so I said, go for it.

Meanwhile, I got on the phone with a contracting company and they said they'd have someone call me about doing an estimate on the roof. I haven't heard from them yet, but I'm waiting with great anticipation. I also got my prescription refilled finally (don't worry, I've had meds, a few samples my shrink gave me to tide me over).

Then, this morning, Wes comes in and says someone is doing a magazine called "Jezebel" and it's my magazine that I wanted to do. I said, "huh?" so I have to go look at it now. Punk.

And I went to dinner with Atari, and he talked about doing an article about graffiti art in Atlanta, which is quite happening and cool, IMHO. Also, skating, about which I know nothing.

Then I went to N9 house and got my resume printed out on Winston's printer, although I'm still working on the work history thing. But it's something I can take to temp agencies, besides.

So, today, I have to clean the kitchen in anticipation of the new dishwasher being delivered tomorrow (happy joy!), then go pick up my bike from Isaac, put in a schedule request at Milano, and attend the N9 Artists Collective meeting at Bill and Poppy's house.

Tomorrow, I think I'll rake leaves.
