So, I went to see Him at school yesterday, and they were having an assembly, recognizing the kids who had all A's and B's. And He was out in the hall in front of the gym talking to a representative from Josten's. Waiting for me? Maybe, maybe not. And He introduced me to some of the teachers and we watched the rest of the assembly from the doors at the back of the gym. One girl, named Amberli, sang the song "Hero," and he held my hand, where everyone could see us and everything. :) One girl was sitting in the back because her leg was in a cast, and she was watching us and her eyes were really big and round and I wondered if she _knew_ something or if she always looked like that. ;)
So, then we went to the lunchroom and I stood in the window so I could get the sunshine. It was cold in there. And the Josten's guy talked to the seniors about caps and gowns and things. I just waited while Stan helped all the kids. I don't think, if I were him, I could just do my job like that, but of course, I DID just do my job, last week, while he waited for me, so maybe it's only my impatience showing.
And we ate lunch at the teacher's table with Greg Teems, and Robyn had gone off with the straight-A students to Hiram to eat at Ryan's. Thpt. Well, I will see her next week, I guess.
We have a standing date now to have lunch together on Thursday.
I didn't have to go back right away, so I listened to him conduct review of the class on exponents. "An entire test? On exponents? This is like what, a five-minute concept?" I said. Of course, then there were a couple that stumped me! Mostly in the order. He beat me in chess AGAIN. I have got to get better. Or get him to play Wes or something.
One kid said, in the middle of fourth, "I'm going to tell your wife you're cheating on her, because you won't help me." and I tried not to do anything, but I could feel my jaw clenching tighter and tighter. Children are stupid, and Stan can just about let anything go, but I wanted to chew the kid's nose off.
Of course, things made up for it. Amanda and the girl who is the Satanic Rocky Horror Fan. :) We traded emails and AIMs.
And there is this little girl who has an "I Love Lucy" thing that is around all the time. I forgot her name. I forgot a lot of their names, but I "know" about 5 or 6 of them now. Of course, they are mostly girls. Stan seems to think he is Not charismatic and attractive, but he still is, in the same way.
And it's time for me to go meet him now. Joy!
I pray every day that we are together. I cannot imagine going on in my life without him at my side. I know I would, of course, I'm no suicidal tragic figure, but I'd be so BORED, knowing I'd already had the best.
