The pie meme has got me. I go around saying "Pie good," "How rare!" and "When come back, bring pie." I bring this up because we went to Bakers Square Thursday and no one could make up his mind, so we each had two half pieces, 6 kinds of pie all round. And, naturally, Matthew and I kept making pie quips; but we tried to limit them, since Ami hasn't seen it.

Speaking of things on the Internet, I can't find "Bingo the Clowno" -- I didn't expect to need to, but now it seems to be gone. I seem to remember seeing it on a disk with other shorts, wish I'd bought that now. Argle.

Thursday night I slept over at Roon and Ami's and Roon had to go to work and Ami didn't, so Ami and I went and got Jon ([livejournal.com profile] paka) and we went to San Francisco. I kept nodding up most of the train trip up there. When we got there, it was windy and chilly. Jon kept pointing out cool things about the architecture that I probably would not have noticed, and we looked in Gump's, which is the weirdest name for a very high-priced store, mostly glass and china and sculpture kind of stuff. Very pretty, made me feel like I was in an episode of "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous."

At noon we met Allison at the Chinatown gate. We had dim sum with her (which is still some sort of adventure to me, although I'm starting to like some of it), and spent the rest of the afternoon in Chinatown, shopping and looking at all the amazing things. I wanted to buy a good luck charm, but there are so many: a china cat with its paw raised, frogs and turtles, dragons. Foo dog guardians, too, and cricket cages. We talked about our different Chinese animal symbol and speculated about the elemental qualities. I need to remember to buy or borrow a book on feng shui.

Wow, I'm beat and I'm only on Friday. I'll try again in the morning.
