It's rush hour, I can tell, because this is the slowest I have gone all
day. I'm in Santa Barbara. Palm trees. 90 miles out of LA, looking at
the Pacific. Pretty. 84 miles now.

Some persistent piece of lint fouling up my road disk has been somehow
inched all the way back to track 21. So I have tunes. For those of you
who might be amused, it includes Billy Joel, warren zevon, tom lehrer,
ELO, olivia newton-john, pink, smashmouth, weird al, new radicals,
TMBG, howard jones, the offspring... And more!

Toby retreats further back in the car every time the load shifts. He
should be'pooning off the back bumper by tomorrow night. I will have to
see if I can dig out the bungees to stabilize the mess I have made of
Roon's packing job.
