Friday Five on Monday Morning

1. What holiday or holidays do you celebrate this time of year?

Christmas with my Christian family and Yule with my Pagan friends. They are both dear to me, though I consider myself to be pagan. I have celebrated Hanukah and would like to do so again in the future.

2. What was the best gift you have ever received?

Wow. Tough one. My grandmother is good at it. Gave me my first camera, first dog and first microwave and even my first clock radio, which sounds like a very prosaic gift, but I loved it. She's the long term winner of good gift-giving. But my best was probably the tape recorder "Santa" gave me when I was 8. I was on my way to being a radio DJ, news reporter, and CIA spy within months.

3. What was the worst gift you've ever given?

I do not know. I know I've given my share of chatchkas and maybe even white elephants. I've had so many bad gifts, I've tried never to give bad ones.

4. Where will you be celebrating the holidays? Are you hosting? Going away?

Mostly, I go away. I am going to my mom's as usual on Christmas Eve/Day and have visited some friends, and will probably visit more friends! I don't expect anyone to come to my house.

5. If you could spend the holidays with someone who isn't around, who would it be with? Why?

Daniel. Because he loves them so much, I feel better.
