I don't even know her last name.
It was all Robert's idea. It was during my visit in December. He took me to this club called the Krazy Korner, and a cover band was playing a weird mix of 70s, 80s, 90s tunes, anything that rocked; three guys, bass, guitar and drums, fronted by this crazy singer, a little tiny girl with auburn curls, a real firecracker. When they started in on one song and I screamed and ran forward to dance, Robert said, "I thought you'd like them."
Afterwards, the band and Robert and I all adjourned to the nearest bar and Maggie was making comments like, "Bob, you brought me a sexy girl!" and we're going to the bathroom together and kissing and smoking. Robert said to someone, "I think she (meaning me) is going to fit right in here," and they replied, "Hell, I think she's already done!"
Flash forward: Last night, I went to the Old Opera House to see Maggie's Mayhem again. I get up on stage to hug Maggie 'hello,' and harmonize with her on "Love Shack." I know the bartender's name and introduce her to the new friend I've brought in. I feel completely at home, and 'splain to the bouncer that she doesn't have to worry about the one-drink minimum, I'm going to be around a lot. Yesterday, Maggie asked me to be her roommate, and I said "Yes."
I realize that I can't find a lot to say ... I should just take a lot of pictures.
