The back of the store is a mess. I took the taxi again today, though I could ill afford it. My pants are too tight today, yet I still can't seem to control my diet. Not being in control always used to bother me. I guess it still does. I have suddenly been craving chicken. I had wings for dinner last night and BBQ chicken for lunch today.
Last night was a little interesting. These two guys in Hooters (sometimes you just crave hot sauce) were acting like they were going to leave without paying, and the waiter and waitress were getting upset with them. Apparently they had come in, eaten, ordered something else, claimed it was messed up and started getting aggressive. They finally cursed at the waiter, who told them that if they tried to start something, he'd simply call a police officer. The waiter's hand shook as he gave them their tab, and they tried to get in his face (apparently if you shake with anger, that makes you a pussy). I had unfortunately been seated next to them during this debacle. I glared at them and told them they needed to calm the F*** down. They actually listened. Being a cantankerous old woman has its moments.
I left the coffee maker at work on all night. I was surprised and pleased to find I still had a coffee carafe this morning. Since I spent all my money on the cab, I'll have to clean it out and make fresh, instead of being lazy as I'd like and going down the street for an au lait. Since it's Mardi Gras, everyone is already here anyway, and there are sure to be lines.
The cab driver kind of weirded me out. I wonder if he tells this story to people just to mess with their heads or if this really happened: He said his son was working for the Sheriff's department, and that his best friend, another deputy, on the way home, hit two drunk guys who dashed out in front of him and killed them. I've been looking for this story ever since, but I haven't found it yet.
Speaking of not doing what I ought, I've procrastinated about way too much stuff. My entire "weekly" list is still undone.
I just managed to get coffee, like at 4:30. I really need to start earlier.
( You already saw the good stuff, believe me. )
