Happy Birthday to Me!
Even though I'm getting old, and I'll never get everything done, I still like my birthday. A day in the summer when I can just goof off. And of course, I stretch it out as much as possible.
Yesterday, however, was thoroughly productive. I think I did ok at the auditions for "Merry Wives," although I may not have a schedule that will sufficiently allow participation. Maybe in the spring.
Right now, I'm redyeing my clothes for Netherworld. I'm going to hang up a wall hanging that's been sitting waiting for a home for several months, and I'm going to try to work on the stuff in the shed. It's been so humid that a mere 86 degrees is unbearable.
I'm going to try to go off with
sapphire_d sometime while she is on vacation and go art supply shopping. In addition to the endless array of pens, inks, and papers we could indulge in, I also need paint.
See, we have decided upon a use for the old fan blades: Squirrel baffles. The squirrels are still coming in slowly, although we've done a great deal to make things less palatable for them. Our next move will be truly eccentric-looking: Fan blades in the trees between the squirrel approaches and the feeder. I thought painting them with pictures of birds would be fun and good practice.

Paint owls on them. That should put a scare into them.

Ah, Netherworld. Those were the days, indeed. I can almost smell the latex just thinking about it . . .
