Oh, the short sanitized version of what happened to California is this:

I underestimated the need for certain resources, and overestimated their availability. I ran out sooner than I thought, before having the opportunity to generate more. So I came home.

That was Too freakin funny! I'll always laugh now when someone mentioms the higher cost of living on the west coast.....
