Socializing

I can't decide if I want to socialize or not. On the one hand, I have learned so little over the years about social prowess that I am amazed at myself, and I think I should learn to do some basic dating skills or something, and as long as people are asking me that I'm not having passionate dramas with, that seems a good thing.

On the other hand, I want to write. And save money. And sit in the dark and eat rice.

You actually *can* socialize and save money, believe it or not. There are many ways to do this. Some actually do involve a few dollars; you have to use gas to get to your intended meeting point, and sometimes a couple of bucks for a cup of java or a soda, but once you are basking in the glorious company of another that you wish to invest time in, all the world's problems sometimes will fade away for an hour or two. And I don't think there is anything wrong with your social skills. You did an excellent job running that first E-zine meeting.

As far as writing, sitting in the dark, and eating rice... Hey, I am all for that. But we mustn't forget to connect... I believe if there is any reason we are all stuck on this planet together, it is to connect with each other. Time is an investment much more valuable than money, and when you invest your time in someone you care for...there is no greater reward.
