If you want to be dead for Halloween, it's easy, apparently. Or at least, this is what I did, and I think it came out pretty well:
I "aged" and old shirt by having my roommate slice it up with a razor and painting it a mottled brown-yellow... using a lot of water, we found out that's key for mottling and streaking. Also, masking liquid helps make the colors mix in unusual ways. We did the same thing with some cheesecloth.
I stuck the cheesecloth to the shirt in a few key points around the shoulders and waist so most of it floats around the shirt. Then I added fabric leaves (painted brown gray-green and black) and artificial moss in spots with spray adhesive. It looks great. Now I just need makeup and I put on my "crown" of fall leaves and I'm a dead dryad.
My only question is, how the heck do I get the spray adhesive off????

Very carefully. :)
