Today was a pretty good day. I am full finally, after days of being hungry off and on, spastically, because I gave in to one of Tug's silly American dinner things and had two cheeseburger burritos. I told him I was trying to avoid yeasts and this is what he made for dinner. It was nice and very filling.
Tug went up on this hill thing today. Look I dunno, look at
tugrik and see for yourself. It's a facility up on a big hill that they're trying to make available to the public, but right now it's not because there's a lot of toxic stuff. He tells it much much better. And he'll probably write more about the cool idea he got from visiting up there and about the congressman-biker he was hanging out with. I'm proud of him, but, again, he tells stories better than I do.
Tug had agreed to come grocery shopping with me tonight, and we met at Albertson's after he got off work. He got me my first Jamba Juice (Orange mango with the Immunization Booster, damn I needed that) and we went through the store, getting me about a dozen frozen dinners, some canned vegetables, peanut butter, salad, yogurt, and coffee, among other things, and regular food for the house. Such a sweetheart, he bought me a coffee maker, even though we found out later that someone had already broken into it and stolen the carafe. So, I'll haul it back tomorrow and exchange it.
With all of the walking and stuff he had to do today, his knee hurt, and so I offered to clean up after dinner. While Tug was cooking,
revar and I cleaned out a cabinet where some species of small moth had infested itself in some oatmeal or something. They've been flying about the house and we knew they were coming from somewhere in the kitchen, and we just finally went through all of this stuff. We threw away everything that was old or open, and it's on my list of things to do to clean out the cabinet real nice tomorrow and reorganize it with the remaining foodstuffs. I'll probably do the cabinet on the other side with the flour and bread mixes and sugar and stuff, too. It was good to feel like I was finally contributing something.
So, after dinner and cleaning up the food, I retired to the computer with my kettle corn and now I am stuffed. But kinda happy about it.
In other news I finally heard about a money-earning opportunity: three weekends at a local Renaissance Fair as a serving wench, basically.I called, they called me back, told me where to show up and what to have with me and what I needed to do and who I needed to talk to. And Roon and Ami will be doing stuff there, so I can ride with them, or Roon, when he goes by himself.
( Is it insecurity if they actually don't like you? )
I also had a particularly nice lunch hour, though not much eating happened. In fact, one might say there was a lot of work for not much result. But very pleasant, for all of that.
