it's supposed to be a convenient way to post with my Treo but it keeps pushing ads which wouldn't be so bad except for the re-sync-ing, and now i've forgotten what I was saying.

my brake pedal was mushy betimes today. more grist. I think I will call verizon and see of they can split my payment. a telling sign of a lifestyle change -- at least for me -- is a huge overrun on my phone bill. that's fixed this month, since we added [livejournal.com profile] heofmanynames to Verizon.

I think I finally understand what a Control Journal (see http://www.flylady.net) is about, so I think I will start one for me and Charlie.

also, I am tired of remembering too late that I should do something about sync-ing this puppy with the laptop, so here's an embarrassing public reminder.

thirdly, I will start (i WILL!) a folder with things I mean to write about, like I used to when I was a reporter.

That's weird, I was just looking at flylady.net a couple of hours ago.

Hug that boyfriend for me, and make him feel better.

When I was a reporter, I wrote a lot of what they call "feature stories." I did beat and crime reporting as well, but features are where you get to shine.

I wrote, among other things, articles about new technologies being used by emergency services, how local schools measured up to others in the state and how water conservation issues related to our local water supply (Lake Allatoona).

There were also dozens of interviews of local characters and stories about local plays being put on, or historical buildings being renovated. But taking a "big" issue or story and bringing it down to our local level, making it relevant, that's what I loved the most. My editor even put some of my features on the front page and said they were as good as the wire.

I'm all about the control journal. Well, in my case, I use my computer... I have a program called List Pro, and I use it to keep track of cleaning details, my recipes, my routines, grocery list... even my bus schedules and books read this year.

I know she says to do it on paper, but this links up to my PDA, so I can either use my laptop or my PDA. Since my PDA is with me constantly, it's what works for me. (And so I have separate programs on it to keep track of my calendar, contact information, and things like insurance policies)

I should have added that this (http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/lp/listpro.htm) is the program, and that it does run on a Palm, as well.

If you decide to check it out, I can send you a copy of my list if you need a springboard for starting your control journal. :-)
